Thanksgiving is a day to celebrate what we are thankful for. Your dogs and cats may be very thankful for a plate of turkey scraps or other yummy tidbit from the table. However, they won’t be thankful for *pancreatitis, food poisoning or the dreaded trip to the animal emergency clinic.
This is a partial list of harmful foods that your pets may get their paws on this weekend:
- Chocolate
- Gum/Candy
- Grapes
- Raisins
- Macadamia Nuts
- Avocados
- Onions
- Garlic
- Salt
- Tea Leaves
- Coffee
- Alcohol
- Raw Dough
- Spoiled Food
- Fatty Foods
- Bones
*Pancreatitis
Inflammation of the pancreas, a severe and sometimes life threatening disease often associated with eating fatty foods. Symptoms include vomiting and a painful abdomen.
