Heterochromia? What is that?

Have you ever seen one of those cats with different colored eyes?  This is a condition known as heterochromia.

Kittens are born with blue eyes and melanin is what changes their eye color.  If the melanin pigment doesn’t reach both eyes you get two different colors.  This can happen in any breed (humans too) but it most often happens in white cats.

* Side note: David Bowie does not have heterochromia.  His eye colors are different from an injury to one of his eyes.
